Last Christmas my Etsy shop was booming, this year that is not the case. It really isn’t a surprise to me because I have not had time to put forth the amount of effort into my shop as I did last year. However, I want that to change. So I have been trying to come up with new ideas that will get people interested. For those of you who don’t know my shop got its start by selling iPhone cases and then evolved to posters. Now I want to create something that stay-at-home moms and hipsters will enjoy since that is the target market of Etsy. I want to get away from doing iPhone cases because they are expensive to make and the profit margin is slim. Here is a list of my ideas and you all can tell me which ones you would be interested in.
I love giving pillows as gifts because everyone loves them! The challenge is what to put on them. I would offer 14×14- $30, 18×18- $40, and 26×26- $50.
I would like to do a combination of typography and pop culture imagery on them. What is really awesome about these pillows is that they can be printed on both sides.
Coffee Mugs are always a cute gift to get any coffee lover. Pricing would be around $20. Since I don’t like coffee I would have to do a lot of research into coffee sayings and what people like on their coffee mugs.
This is something cool I learned how to do and it would be the first thing that I actually make, versus sending it off to the printer. I would do some image to wood transferring. I would allow people to send in images for what they wanted to be transferred and I would also offer predesigned stuff for people to choose from. These would cost anywhere from $20-$100 depending on the size of the wood. All wood transfers take 24hrs to complete since you have to let them sit for the image to transfer properly.
Let me know what you think about these ideas. Tell me which ones you like and don’t like.
